Modified variant of the Mercedes-Benz heavy 4.5-ton 4x4 military truck used by the German Wehrmacht during World War II. The standard L4500A was retrofitted with armour plating to protect the crew and vital components, such as the engine and fuel tanks, from small arms fire and shrapnel. The cab and reinforced load bed were enclosed with steel plates. The 2 cm FlaK 38 was effective against light aircraft but struggled against heavily armoured or fast-moving aerial targets. The weight of the gun and ammunition reduced the vehicle's speed and off-road capability.
