Takom 5024 M911 C-HET w/M747 Heavy Equipment Semi-Trailer 1:72 Model Kit
Scale 1:72
The M911 CHET is a heavy-duty transporter produced by the American Oshkosh Corporation for the US Army starting in the second half of the 1970s as a more powerful and cost-effective alternative to the M746 HET.
The name C-HET stands for Commercial Heavy Equipment Transporter.
The design was based on the commercially available Oshkosh F2365 truck, which was adapted to the military's requirements in order to keep costs as low as possible and begin production as quickly as possible.
They proved their worth in transporting the M60 series main battle tanks of the time.
During Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, the M911s were primarily used to transport M1 Abrams tanks.
However, they exhibited significant overloading when loads exceeded 60 tons. Some are still used as heavy-duty transporters of other military equipment, such as engineer equipment.
