Roco SBB IR1617 B/A Coach Set (4) V RC6200091 HO Gauge
The train pictured travelled via Delsberg to Basel, but came from Brig as IR 51. It is a typical core composition for the time, consisting of D EW II, 2 A EW IV, 4 B EW II of the express trains on the Brig–Lausanne–Biel–Basel/–Zürich–Romanshorn line (alternating hourly, Brig–Lausanne not hourly and Brig-Sion as a regional train).
The number of A EW IVs allowed the 1st class of the long-distance express trains to be equipped with modern carriages, while the 2nd class had to make do with slightly modernized EW IIs ("comfort strips", internally called B(r)). Re 4/4 IIs were usually used on these trains. However, these were often replaced by a Re 460. Depending on the time of day and section, additional carriages (usually 1 or 2 B EW Is, if required for the Zurich area an additional A EW I) and/or 1-2 Z or Z2s rolled along, coupled on side D or side B, as was operationally more convenient.
ModelSet of 1:87 Scale coaches decorated in SBB livery. These models feature lots of expertly applied details as based on the prototype, a high level of body detail and excellent running characteristics.
