Roco OBB Rh2062.30 Diesel Locomotive III (DCC-Sound) RC7310079 HO Gauge
In order to replace the costly and labor-intensive steam locomotives in shunting service, the Austrian Federal Railways purchased a series of 400 hp diesel locomotives of the 2062 series from 1958. The Jenbacher works in Tyrol built a total of 65 of these two-axle small diesel locomotives by 1966. With its striking, cast-iron front shields, which serve as ballast weights, the locomotive was used throughout Austria in shunting and construction train service. On the Lower Austrian branch lines, these locomotives were used to pull passenger trains with one or two carriages. The last locomotives were taken out of normal service in 2003. However, some examples are still in use today as works and construction train locomotives with the series designation X262.
