OBB Arlberg Express Bmpz/ABp Coach Set (2) IV

The “Arlberg Express” was one of those trains with a famous name, the introduction of which goes back to the time of the transcontinental luxury trains. Unlike its siblings, the “Orient and Ostend Express”, it ran through the whole of Austria in a west-east direction.

Over time, the train increasingly developed into an international train with through carriages. In addition to the main train service from Vienna to Paris, the train also had numerous through carriages, for example to the Salzkammergut and from there to Salzburg, where they disembarked again. There were also through carriages from Vienna to Carinthia and East Tyrol, which ran from Schwarzach-St. Veit were transported further via the Tauern Railway.

Depending on the composition, the sets on offer can be used to recreate the train in the different configurations Vienna – Salzburg – Schwarzach St. Veit – Innsbruck – Buchs.
