DBAG BR628 422-8 2 Car DMU V (DCC-Sound)

As a further development of the 628.2 series, a total of 304 diesel multiple units of the 628.4 series were put into service in Germany between 1992 and 1995. The unification of the two German states provided the impetus for the procurement of these vehicles. The main changes compared to the predecessors were the center doors, the bogies and the machinery. The two-wing pivoting sliding doors in the middle of the multiple unit make the 628.4 easy to distinguish from all other 628s. The paintwork in the then current product colors of mint turquoise, pastel turquoise and light gray gave the multiple units an attractive and modern appearance.
