Details

The distinctive diesel-electric T669, designed by the CKD Prague locomotive factory, was developed for heavy shunting services with export orders for six-axle diesel locomotives destined for the former Soviet Union and Albania. Following the successful completion and testing of three prototypes, designated CME for the Soviet Union and T669.0 for the CSD, series production commenced immediately. These robust locomotives quickly became indispensable in major marshalling yards across the USSR and Czechoslovakia.
