Details

Between 1977 and 1980, Cegielski of Poznan delivered 200 electric double locomotives for heavy goods services on the Polish State Railways (PKP), designated as the ET 41 series. These high-performance locomotives were created by coupling two units based on the design of the single-piece EU 07. The close-coupling ends replaced driver cabs with ballast to increase friction mass, while the frame was simplified and reinforced to meet the demands of freight service. The ET 41 proved highly versatile in daily operations and remains especially effective for heavy mountain services in southern Poland.
