Designed with a Bo'Bo' wheel arrangement, the DE 18 combines strong tractive effort with a top speed of 120 km/h and an 1,800 kW intermediate-speed diesel engine from MTU’s 12V4000 series. Its versatile diesel-electric transmission makes it suitable for heavy-duty shunting, industrial and port operations, as well as mainline freight and regional transport, making it a flexible modern workhorse for operators across Europe.
