Details
The German Railroad Track Laying, Inc. (DBG) Class 367 is a diesel-hydraulic switcher developed for private and industrial railway operations. Inspired by the proven Henschel DHG 700, these locomotives became a solution for DBG when it faced an acute shortage of motive power in 2005/2006. At that time, six DHG 700 units from a halted industrial railway became available, and DBG acquired them to meet its operational needs.
The robust locomotives were incorporated into the DBG roster as Class 367, with road numbers 367 001-5 to 367 006-4. They were immediately deployed in Az-Dienst (Work Train Service), handling track maintenance trains, yard duties, and other industrial switching operations. Their rugged construction, reliable diesel-hydraulic drive, and simple mechanical design made them ideal for decades of heavy-duty use, despite having originally been built between 1973 and 1985.
