The 7.5cm PaK 40 was one of the Wehrmacht’s most important and effective anti-tank guns of WWII. Entering service in 1942, it was developed to counter increasingly well-armoured Allied tanks. Capable of penetrating most enemy armour at normal combat ranges, the PaK 40 became the standard German anti-tank weapon, used on all fronts and mounted on both towed carriages and self-propelled platforms.
