Built by Brush, this locomotive started life as D1757 in September 1964 at Cardiff Canton, and under TOPS became 47163 in 1974.

It received various modifications between 1976 and 1979 and was reclassified as a 47/4 and renumbered 47610 in April 1984. It was renumbered again in April 1989, when it became a 47/8 and was given the number 47823, before becoming 47787 as part of the EWS fleet and being named ‘Windsor Castleâ'. Previously, it had carried the names ‘SS Great Britain' and ‘Victim Supportâ'. It became part of the West Coast Railways operation at Carnforth in February 2007.

Our Class 47 RailRoad model faithfully depicts this locomotive in its EWS form, with added features for enhanced durability and a pre-fitted sound chip for authentic railway sounds.
