Product Info
As the first member of class (originally to be designated Class 87/2 as the locomotives were seen as an upgraded version of the existing Class 87s), 90001 initially went to the Rail Technical Centre at Derby for testing in October 1987.
It entered service at Willesden depot in October 1987 and, in 1989, was named ‘BBC Midlands Todayâ'. That name was removed in 2004 and, ten years later, it was given the name ‘Crown Pointâ' while based at Norwich with Abellio Greater Anglia. In April 2020, it was bought by Locomotive Services Limited, Crewe for main line excursion work. They repainted it in the original InterCity ‘Swallowâ' livery and renamed it ‘Royal Scotâ'. It is one of three Class 90s currently owned by LSL, the others being 90002 and 90026.
This RailRoad locomotive model is a faithful representation of the electric engine, but with more durable features that make it perfect for regular model railway running.
