Product Info

A total of 31 Class 91s were built between 1988 and 1991 for high-speed express passenger train haulage as part of the East Coast electrification programme of the late 1980s. Also known as InterCity 225s in anticipation of their service speed of 225km/h (140mph), they were also referred to as ‘Electrasâ' by BR during their development phase.

No. 91018 was built at BREL Crewe and entered service in 1990. It received the name ‘Robert Louis Stevensonâ' in November 1993, and this was changed to ‘Bradford Film Festivalâ' in February 2000. It was modified to Class 91/1 in 2002 and renumbered 91118, and remained in service until withdrawn by LNER in May 2020, before going into storage. It was scrapped by February 2023.

This RailRoad model locomotive is a faithful representation of the BR Intercity Class 91 'Robert Louis Stevenson', with a more durable construction that makes it perfect for beginner modellers.
