Herpa Wings Boeing 707-320 Pan-Am N717PA Jet Clipper Fleetwing (1:200) HA573696
In late 1958, Pan American World Airways took delivery of the advanced Boeing 707-320 âIntercontinentalâ, a significant upgrade over earlier 707 variants. This aircraft enabled non-stop transatlantic flights from New York to destinations such as Frankfurt and Rome, eliminating the need for intermediate stops and reinforcing Pan Amâs dominance on key international routes. âJet Clipper Fleetwingâ was the fourth of twenty 707-320s in the fleet, powered by Pratt & Whitney JT4 turbojet engines, and entered service in 1959. This 1/200 scale model faithfully replicates the aircraft in its historically significant livery. Shortly before retirement in 1970, N717PA was one of the few original 707-320s to be repainted in Pan Amâs updated branding, introduced alongside the Boeing 747, featuring the simplified âPan Amâ titles on the fuselage.
