Heljan Class 37/0 Unnumbered BR Large Logo Blue HN3731 O Gauge

Class 37/0 Unnumbered BR Large Logo Blue

Built by English Electric between 1960 and 1965, the Class 37s were ordered as part of the British Rail modernisation plan. This class was designed as a heavy freight locomotive and some operators still use them to haul goods around the UK. These six axle locomotives had a high tractive effort and could easily handle both freight and passenger services. 309 class 37s were produced and throughout their operational career they had many different sub-classes and operators. 35 locomotives were preserved and over 60 are still in use today.
