VolkerRail 7178 Electric Locomotive VI (DCC-Sound)

In October 2020, VolkerRail bought three 1700 series locomotives and three spare parts donors from the Dutch State Railways. After extensive maintenance and painting in the company colors, the first own electric locomotive, "VolkerRail 7178", was put into service in January 2021. The locomotive, formerly known as 1778 by the NS, is used by the Dutch rail infrastructure company to traction the various work trains.
