Introduced in 2010, the Vectron was designed to serve both freight and passenger operations across Europe, with multiple power and voltage options, modular safety systems, and broad interoperability across national networks. The Vectron range includes electric variants for AC, DC and multi-system operation, capable of working under 1.5 kV, 3 kV, 15 kV and 25 kV catenary systems, with power outputs from about 5.2 MW to 6.4 MW. Standard top speeds start at 160 km/h, with packages available for 200 km/h and even 230 km/h passenger service.
