Fleischmann RailAdventure BR139 558-1 Electric Locomotive VI FM7560033 N Gauge

RailAdventure BR139 558-1 Electric Locomotive VI

As one of four series in the German Federal Railway's standard electric locomotive program, the E 40 was also developed as a locomotive for hauling freight trains on flat land. 31 locomotives with contact wire-independent resistance brakes were delivered for gradient routes and designated as the E 40.11 sub-series. This multi-purpose locomotive was used on the Höllentalbahn, among other routes. From 1968, the series designation of these locomotives was changed to 139 (ex E 40.11) for computer purposes. A few of these locomotives are still in use by private railway companies today.
