OBB Rh1110 Electric Locomotive IV

In the booming post-war years, the Austrian Federal Railways also focused on modernization. The most important connections in the country were electrified and could now be used at higher speeds. In the mid-1950s, this marked the birth of the six-axle electric locomotive series 1010. For use on the mountain routes of the Tauern, Brenner and Arlberg railways, a series of machines with higher performance at a slightly lower top speed was developed from this type. These vehicles were incorporated into the ÖBB fleet as series 1110.
