OBB Rh1110 Electric Locomotive IV (DCC-Sound)

In the booming post-war years, the Austrian Federal Railways also focused on modernization. The most important connections in the country were electrified and could now be used at higher speeds. In the mid-1950s, this marked the birth of the six-axle electric locomotive series 1010. A series of machines with higher performance at a slightly lower top speed was developed from this type for use on the mountain routes of the Tauern, Brenner and Arlberg railways. These vehicles were incorporated into the ÖBB fleet as series 1110.
