OBB Infra Beilhack Rotary Snow Blower VI (DCC-Sound)

In 2019, ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG put a new high-performance snow blower into operation. The machine, which is used to clear snow from railway tracks, uses two 793 kW (approx. 1,100 hp) MAN twelve-cylinder engines. One unit drives the vehicle, the other is used to operate the blower. The snow blower can clear up to 10,000 tons of snow per hour with a throwing distance of 40 meters. It is approved for speeds of up to 100 km/h for transfer trips. A rim that can be rotated 180° enables the vehicle to turn on the spot. This means that even the most difficult alpine weather conditions can be mastered.
