DBAG BR103 233-3 Electric Locomotive V (DCC-Sound)

The E 03 series was created in the mid-1960s and was intended to be the most powerful DB locomotive for heavy passenger trains up to that point. 145 series locomotives were put into service between 1970 and 1974. The last 30 locomotives (from 103 216) were given an enlarged driver's cab and thus became 700 mm longer.

At the end of the official service life, at the suggestion of many fans of this series, a machine was created in the new traffic red livery with a contrasting frame. Just as was the case with the classic 103 in red/beige. The ROCO company sponsored this paintwork. As a special feature, the machine was given a dedication text under the right-hand side driver's cab window on the occasion of the presentation.
