Details
The diesel locomotive 218 218-6 was built by Krupp and delivered in 1974. It holds the distinction of being the first locomotive of its class to appear in the ocean blue and beige colour scheme. Initially allocated to the Nuremberg Federal Railway Directorate (BD), it was later transferred to the traction maintenance depot at Regensburg.
This locomotive remained in service with its original finish until 1987, when it was repainted in orient red, reflecting the updated appearance of the fleet during that period. With its pioneering livery history, 218 218-6 is a notable example of the long-serving and versatile Class 218 series.
